Foxglove

Written by
Native European woodland plant grown for years in cottage gardens with flowers in shades of pink and red. It is a popular biennial for shaded places perennial if the flower stems are cut back promptly to prevent seeding. Otherwise plants seed themselves freely and the seedlings can be transplanted if they are in the way. (B) is colouration of pearly grey flowers with bronze-yellow to purplish tinted tubes over deep green evergreen foliage.

Flax (perennial)

Easily grown in average medium well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Prefers light soils in full sun. Tends to root shallowly in heavy clay soils resulting in increased winter survival problems. Easily grown from seed (some plants may flower the first year). Freely self-seeds in optimum growing conditions.
